Rough finishing works in residential premises consist of four main stages. These include floor screed, wall plastering, drywall works, demolition and relocation of interior partitions (apartment remodeling). Let’s examine each of them in detail.
Floor screed
Floor screed refers to a thick layer of sand-cement mixture laid over the slab, rough base, or insulation layer. Tile, linoleum, laminate, and other coverings are installed on this layer. Screed levels the floor, gives it rigidity, and conceals engineering communications. For underfloor heating, the screed also serves as a protective layer.
Wall plastering
Plaster is a finishing layer intended for leveling walls, further preparation for work. This layer can be perfect, without defects (the appearance of large or small cracks, changes in the geometry of the space, peeling, swelling). Plaster has breathable characteristics. Thanks to this feature, the coatings treated with this mixture become "breathable", so fungus or mold does not appear on them. Plaster is created on the basis of an ecological and absolutely safe coating, which is practical, as well as resistant to mechanical damage.
Wall plastering
Plaster is a finishing layer intended for leveling walls and further preparation for work. This layer can be flawless, without defects (appearance of large or small cracks, changes in spatial geometry, delamination, blistering). Plaster is characterized by breathable properties. Thanks to this feature, surfaces treated with this mixture become “breathable,” so mold or mildew does not appear on them. Plaster is made from an environmentally friendly and completely safe coating, which is practical and resistant to mechanical damage.
Drywall works
Modern construction materials allow new walls to be built quickly and with minimal cost. Typically, foam blocks, drywall, or bricks are used for this. If a drywall structure is to be created on the ceiling, it is necessary to wait at least a week for the surfaces to dry after the screed.
Special aluminum guides are mounted under the drywall, serving as the base for attaching the sheets. As a rule, multi-level structures are created, and smooth lines are used.
Demolition and relocation of interior partitions (remodeling)
If the owner has purchased housing with an open layout, the decision to install all partitions is made by them. In case of the need to dismantle partitions reflected in the technical documentation, it is first important to legalize this process.
During apartment remodeling, builders adjust the sealing of joints between slabs. At this stage of renovation, everything possible is done so that in the future the owners do not suffer from drafts and noise. Modern soundproofing materials help minimize discomfort.
