There are two types of apartment renovation: cosmetic and major. This distinction is rather conditional, as cosmetic renovation may be accompanied by floor screeding, installation of electrical wiring or plumbing. If such a need arises, the homeowner orders these services additionally.
Cosmetic renovation differs from major renovation in complexity and scope of work. The first type of renovation focuses on updating decorative surface finishes, while the second concerns replacement of utilities and primary surfaces in the living space.
Euro renovation or elite apartment renovation belongs to a separate category of work. In essence, it is a major renovation with mandatory additional services.

Cosmetic apartment renovation
The fastest, simplest type of renovation with the lowest cost of work. During cosmetic renovation, switches, sockets, and light fixtures are replaced with more modern and new ones; all types of surfaces are updated: wallpaper, tiles, ceiling and floor coverings are changed. If the apartment already has interior decoration, old decorative finishes are necessarily removed.
Cosmetic renovation is mainly suitable for those living spaces that do not require surface leveling, for example – apartments in new buildings, secondary housing that is rented out. If major renovation was done a long time ago and the owners want to give each room a new life, cosmetic renovation will also be very relevant for them.
Major apartment renovation
This type of renovation consists of a full cycle of preliminary preparation of surfaces for applying decorative finishes. Tiles, parquet, and wallpaper look good and last long only on even surfaces. To prevent the appearance and spread of mold, it is important to treat the walls of the premises with antiseptic substances.
Preparatory work consists of:
- dismantling of old finishes and their base (if it is secondary housing);
- installation of a new reliable floor screed;
- leveling of ceiling and walls.
Decorative finishes are applied after all surfaces have acquired a perfectly even shape and are positioned at right angles to each other.
Major renovation includes laying new electrical wiring, replacing water supply and sewage pipes.
It is important to install a modern electrical panel, and the wiring must be laid in corrugated pipes in the floor screed. Floor waterproofing plays an important role, so modern major renovation does not go without it. Plumbing work consists of concealed pipe laying and installation of plumbing equipment (installation of a new toilet, bathtub, sink, faucet).
Calling a designer-measurer costs 1500 UAH (when ordering products, the call of the designer-measurer is included in the order price).
For out-of-town visits, travel expenses are paid by the customer.
